Volunteers are absolutely critical to our success and growth as a Ministry. You make it possible for more individuals to be reached, for more parents and families to be served. Your "YES" promotes the expansion of His Kingdom here in Kansas City, and we see that as a pretty big deal!
JoyKC implements a "buddy system" where participants with disabilities are paired with trained volunteers. Volunteers enjoy activities alongside participants and are available if additional support is needed. This model not only increases social capital for participants served at JoyKC (i.e. increased life, increased quality of life), but also holds the potential to help write (and re-write) our community's perception of people with disabilities through the context of friendship.
Volunteer Requirements:
Participate in a virtual training prior to serving.
Successfully complete & pass a Background Check.
Must be 15 years or older.
